Whether you represent an institution ready to offer its students and faculty a structured, bilingual mentorship model, or you are seeking guidance for your own journey in STEM and healthcare, MAPA STEM begins at the same starting point: a conversation.
No two journeys are alike, and the path shouldn't be, either. Tell us where you stand and where the horizon seems uncertain. From there, we will help you find the right route.
Every year, thousands of talented students complete rigorous scientific and academic training — yet receive little guidance on career exploration, leadership, networking, communication, or how to navigate an increasingly diverse job market.
The current workforce in the STEM and healthcare sectors requires mentorship, leadership, professional networks, communication skills, and career readiness — competencies rarely taught through traditional scientific training.
Our model guides professionals through three continuous stages — explore, plan, and grow — revisiting them as careers evolve, the job market changes, and new decisions arise.
Choose the path that best describes you.
Discover career paths across STEM and healthcare that align with your interests, experience, and goals.
Transform your possibilities into a personalized strategy to get where you want to go and know how to achieve it.
Go beyond the traditional single-mentor model by creating a network of people who provide diverse forms of guidance, opportunities, and support.
MAPA STEM helps institutions create mentoring ecosystems in which educators, mentors, sponsors, peers, alumni, and industry professionals play complementary roles in supporting professional development.
The MAPA STEM model features a modular design. Institutions can implement a single tier, combine multiple tiers, or adopt the entire Explore → Plan → Grow ecosystem based on their priorities, populations, and resources.
Each level can operate independently or integrate with existing initiatives focused on student success, career readiness, mentoring, and faculty development, allowing institutions to start where the need is greatest and expand over time.
Most mentorship happens informally, if it happens at all. MAPA STEM replaces chance encounters with a structured, evidence-based system.
| Traditional Mentorship | MAPA STEM |
|---|---|
| One mentor | Mentorship ecosystem |
| Academic only | Academia + Industry + Healthcare |
| Unstructured | Evidence-based framework |
| English only, or Spanish only | Bilingual by design |
| Reactive | Career mapping from day one |
Every program is informed by published research on mentorship, leadership, workforce development, and career transitions.
Founded by scientists who have built international careers across academia, translational research, and industry.
We work alongside institutions — not outside them — to complement, not duplicate, existing student and staff support.
Long-term success depends on relationships and belonging as much as knowledge — so community is built in, not bolted on.
MAPA STEM was co-founded by researchers who have lived the transitions they now teach — from choosing a scientific vocation to translating a career across borders, sectors, and languages.
